and with his stripes we are healed
Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. He is despised and rejected of men; ... he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. Kiss the Son, ... Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
