Here locals are treated as outsiders.. Most or almost all of the Auroville residents are foreigners...
They use locals as labourers.. They export lots of produce.. Make huge and huge money!!! .

There is a reason why governments exist all across the world: because it's a sort of a stabilised happy medium that everyone seem to eventually settle into. Whatever can happen, will happen 😇

Justen Flowers
Justen Flowers I suspect this works because what surrounds it is objectively worse. The workers get the perceived value of not being subjected to typical Indian working conditions. There’s the incentive.
Otherwise, like all socialism, disincentivizing production (through lack of ownership) will ultimately lead to decreased production. That’s when you really see who’s in charge, and the manipulation gets intensified or overt.

Nicole Jobe How many Americans are willing to live that minimalist of a life? Very few I would guess. And I would also go farther to say that the least educated seem to do the hardest labor, even if they have an equal vote. Note the French and English worked inside or on skilled jobs, not in the field. How long would this hold up after more than 2 generations and few thousand people.

Once we achieve the machines and AI to farm, make clothing, build houses, etc basically provide for all of our basic needs without any human help, we will be free. They’ll be like slaves without the human element. Once that happens we can do whatever we want and not have to work or worry about materialistic things
